Sisters and a Little History

July 20, 2010

This weekend, Mitch’s youngest sister Mackenzie (who is now officially a high school graduate!) flew into Pittsburgh because she is headed to a summer camp she attends every year.  We were more than thrilled to find out that she and Melissa, Mitch’s older sister, were going to make a visit to see their favorite brother and sister-in-law!  We had a great time seeing both of them–we went out to dinner at the Cheesecake Factory, always adorably dressed Mackenzie gave me much needed fashion advice and they spent the night on our comfy couch and (not so) comfy air mattress.

On one of our first dates, Mitch and I went to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner and just as we ordered our cheesecake to share, we realized that we were extremely late for something.  We asked our waitress to make our order to-go, paid, and rushed to the car to be on our way.  We ended up getting stuck in traffic and decided it was the perfect opportunity to enjoy our delayed dessert.  We forgot about what we had done until many months later when we found ourselves at the same restaurant again.  Mitch ordered our cheesecake to go and gave me that “remember?” look with his irresistible smile. Of course!  Needless to say, we haven’t been to the Cheesecake Factory a million times since then, but it is very true that every time we go, we always eat our cheesecake in the car.

So…we convinced Mackenzie and Melissa that we at least had to get it to go.  We all got home, got into our pjs and enjoyed a fabulous cheesecake sampling from to go containers!  It was so good to see them…it is rare that all of us our together but so great when we are!  These are the two beautiful girls that are Mitch’s sisters…

{Disclaimer: My husband has come to accept that I look more like his family than he does. Also, Mitch loves his blackberry, but I don’t love its picture quality!}
